Honda Working on Compact SUV

Rumor has it that Honda is hard at work on a new compact SUV. We don't know much about this new sporty off-road vehicle, except that it will take styling cues from the 2012 Honda CR-V, and will share a platform with the Honda Civic. It's hard to imagine a mash-up of these two vehicles, but early images reveal a sporty car that rides high like the CR-V but the flowing wheel-arches and slim headlights of the Civic.
But it's still in the very early stages of development, so things are likely to change for it officially hits the market. It doesn't even have a name yet, but critics are already abuzz with possible details for the compact-SUV. Some are saying that it's likely to get Honda's 1.6-liter i-DTEC engine, but other possibilities include the 1.8-liter engine and 2.2-liter i-DTEC engine. In fact, it's so early in the developmental stages that we're not even sure it will hit the U.S. market.
Why? Well, compact SUVs suit a niche market in Europe that doesn't really exist here in the United States. That doesn't mean that it couldn't, it just means that American drivers haven't quite caught on to the trend yet. And, who's to say this compact SUV isn't the car that will break the mold?
That said, be sure to stay tuned with Scholfield Honda, 7017 East Kellogg Dr Wichita, KS 67207 for the latest developments on this and other Honda news.
