The Detroit Auto Show is well underway, and will run through the end of this week. All the big automakers have set up shop, hoping to impress the throngs of gearheads and car enthusiasts who are there to see the latest and greatest designs put forth. Many have already been stunned by the unveiling of the Honda Urban SUV Concept.
Rumors have been swirling for a while now about our favorite Japanese automaker's intention of creating a new crossover based on the design of the popular Honda Fit. Now those rumors can be put to rest because the Urban SUV Concept is just that.
This new concept is just a little bit longer than the Fit, but is a little bit shorter than the Honda CR-V. This positions the new crossover as the perfect combination of SUV practicality with compact size.
John Mendel, executive vice president of sales at American Honda says, "No one has had greater success with small cars than Honda, and this Urban SUV Concept will create new value in the growing small-SUV segment. With the continued expansion of our North American manufacturing operations, we expect fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive 'small' cars to play a key role in meeting the needs of our customers in the U.S."1
Word on the street is that we will not be adding the product version of the Urban SUV Concept to our lineup of new and used Honda vehicles until 2014. We still encourage you to come and take a test drive of the models we do have in stock here at Scholfield Honda located at 7017 E. Kellogg Rd. Wichita, KS. Our friendly staff is always willing to answer any questions you may have.
